The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli has advised Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) to sensitize public on the N1.000.00 tax introduced by the state government on eligible people residing in the state.
He gave the advise when Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Mal. Zayd Abubakar led members of the board who was in the palace to intimate him on how they plan the tax collections by using traditional institutions in the state.
Emir Bamalli recalled that in the past, if government wants to introduce any policy, it produces publicity of what they are planning to do for public to understand the importance of paying tax.
According to him, it is good to pay tax to enable government the opportunity to execute meaningfull developmental projects that will touch the lives of its citizens.
Emir Bamalli said engaging “Masu Unguwanni, Dakatai and Hakimai” in the collection exercise will help.
Earlier, in his remarks, the Executive Chairman Internal Revenue Service Mal. Zayd Abubakar told the emir that in collecting the tax, they will work with his subjects for easy collections of the tax from the citezens.
He said, there is an incentive to them as approved for them in each N1.000.00 collected Mai Unguwa has N100.00, Dakaci N50.00 and Hakimi N50.00.
Zayd Abubakar said the tax if collected the state revenue will increse and dynamic projects will be executed across the state.
He said, what they are waiting for the comencement of collections is the bill on tax to be passed in to law by the State House of Assembly.
