The Executive Secretary, Executive Secretary of NIgeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Reverend Yakubu Pam has commended staff of the commission for their dedication to duty and resilience.
He expressed this in his address at the event marking his one year anniversary in office, held at the NCPC head office in Abuja on Wednesday July 7, 2021.
“From the departments, I met with the staff turn by turn; and at the end of my first consultations and self-introduction, few weeks in office, I can say the staff of the commission were “yearning and hungry” to resume back to work! I did sense their enthusiasm as a clarion call to inject the needed tonic to plunge them into action,” he said.
Reverend Pam said that in view of the challenging task ahead of him on resumption, he seemed it necessary to interact with the staff.
“Familiar and realizing the mandate I have been sent to carry out here, what I needed first was to interface with the majority of the workforce who were on compulsory sit-at-home due to the directives of the federal government to control the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic which was at its fever peak!” He said.
He said that he was glad that a year has rolled by and they are marching forward to fulfill this mandate.
Speaking further, he said that the component of peace building added to his responsibilities, is one he is set to achieve.
“I must acknowledge at the onset of the journey that the Peace Component that was added to my basic responsibility was a task I saw must be achieved.
“So, I gladly accepted it with every sense of loyalty and humility,” he explained..
