As the Executive Secretary of NIgeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Reverend Yakubu Pam marked one year in office, he has stressed the need for all to embrace peaceful coexistence as it is the bedrock of an enduring society.

“Let me say this: an enduring society depicts signs of enduring peace and tolerance.
“Let’s sustain it. Let’s uphold it. You need it. I need it. We allneed it!” He said.
He recalled a year ago, precisely, July 7, 2020; he resumed office as the third Executive Secretary of the commission, following his appointment in June of the same year by President Muhammadu Buhari.
“I must be quick to add, the journey no doubt has provided me greater insight into the rudiments of bureaucracy.
“The experience has been stressful, baffling, time-consuming and above all, very interesting and rewarding. On assumption of office, I met an anxious waiting staff who were already in high spirit.
“Though, and sadly enough, the mood of the country at that timewas so pitiful as the country was in a hole following the worldwide general lockdown as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“To begin with, I must say I remain grateful to all those who through many ways of communication had reached me in solidarity, I say a big thank you,” he said.
Speaking further on peace, he said, “I am glad the President added this as a new component to my major role as the Executive Secretary of NCPC. I understand it hasn’t been so the previous administrations. nonetheless, peace as you well know is a necessary component of any key development globally.
“I had before now been advocating for a peaceful society areas as clergy I have preached and tried to live it, over three decades little efforts that I have done I never knew cognizance was beingattached to it which probably explains why I’m here today.”
