The annual livestock vaccination excercise has been flagged-off in Buji Local Government Area of Jigawa State, where a total of 11,000 herds of cattle, 20,000 small ruminants comprising sheep and goats, 200 dogs and 5,000 birds of all categories are expected to be vaccinated during the excercise.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the ceremony, the head of agriculture and natural resources department, Malam Hassan Abdullahi Jibrin Kafin Hausa, announced that 50 Vails of CBPP Vaccines, 5 Vails of ARV and 7 Vails of NCD have been received from Birnin Kudu Zonal office as starting doses.
He commended Buji Local Government Council for its determination to ensure that livestock farming is given special consideration in order to boost ecomony and self-reliance across the local government area, adding that all the required support and logistics were provided by the council to ensure the success of the programme in the local government area.
Malam Hassan Kafin Hausa thanked the staff of Buji Local Government Area agriculture department and all those who are working selflessly towards the success of the vaccination excercise, adding that the programme would be profitable to livestock rearers in the local government area respectively.
