If not for anything, ECWA GoodNews, Church, Abuja Street, Kaduna threw its doors open in thanksgiving to the God Almighty for seeing its members through form January to July, 2021 in spite of all the challenges of life the country is going through.
It was indeed celebration galore to all those that attended the Church service which the entire members tagged “2021 Mid-Year Harvest Thanksgiving” on the topic, “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving”, appreciating the Almighty for protection in spite of all odds of life.
To most members interviewed said there is no better for any Nigerian living especially the Church to give thanks to the creator than when one sees himself or herself breathing particularly the situation one finds himself or herself in the country.
They said there is no better time for anybody living to give thanks than anytime in ones life, stressing that the Church decided to celebrate unto the Lord for His love, mercies and protection to humanity.
They noted that the Mid-year harvest thanksgiving comes at the right time for them to express their gratitude to the protector of life and His blessings upon their lives in the midst of no hope in the country.
The said they believe the Almighty would give them hope and everything life could give, saying that their God did it in times past, expressing faith in the Lord for His abundance love, mercy and grace upon their lives to continue to make ways for them where there is no way for them.
The Minister-in-charge, Rev. Ephraim Y. Piyak, in his pastoral declaration emphasized that the journey from January to date has been daunting to everyone at different levels, stressing that the Lord Almighty has seen them through.
According to him, “The uncertainty of life in this world is so alarming that one wonders a place of safety and survival if not in Christ Jesus. When you survey the world you discover that COVID-19 is ravaging other parts of the world and looking at Africa the pivot of world’s suffering, particularly Nigeria a furnace of fire and a valley of death; you can’t stop thanking God that you are alive and still standing.”
He noted that it is on this understanding and the mercies of the Almighty in spite of the uncertainties of life that the Church declared that as redeemed of God, they should always enter His gate with Thanksgiving in their hearts.
To demonstrate this in their journey, he declared that the Church is giving everyone the opportunity to appreciate God for the salvation they have in Christ Jesus and the daily shielding God accords them from kidnappers, pre matured death, famine and life threatening issues.
Rev. Dr Micah Gaiya, Guest speaker, explained that the Almighty is great giver, saying that He makes ways for his children where there is no way.
He stressed the need for Christians to always glorify God with their resources for the blessings of God upon their lives.
