Alleged Diversion: Oyo NSCDC Intercepts Truck With 33,000 Litres Of Petrol


*warns against sale of Petroleum in residential buildings

The Oyo State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Anti Vandal Squad, in Kishi Irepodun Local Government Area has impounded a blue DAF Truck with 33,000 litres of petroleum product.
According to the Oyo State NSCDC Commandant, CC Michael Akintayo Adaralewa, the truck with registration number APP 429 XV loaded with 33,000 litres of petroleum product purportedly belonging to Ibrolak Nigeria limited was arrested at around 1920hrs on Thursday 1/7/2021 along Kishi kaiama road to Kaiama Kwara State for diversion.
Commandant Adaralewa who disclosed this during a briefing with the Agro rangers team of Corps at the Command State Headquarters Agodi, Ibadan stressed  that the truck was arrested due to fake weigh bill and interstate documents presented which is illegal.
The State Commandant while vowing that Oyo state NSCDC command will not tolerate any form of criminality, issue a clear warned  those specialized in illegal dealings and diversion of Petroleum product to desist or face the wrath of the law.
Commandant Adaralewa then  advised  youth in and across Oyo state to steer clear of acts of lawlessness, jungle justice, drugs, crime and criminality, and that those in  the habit of selling petroleum product such as AGO and PMS in residential building in Ibadan to stop the act as anybody caught will be dealt with, saying, ” it is better you change and do things right than to be caught and go to jail,” 
Stressing that the truck has been impounded at Kishi Divisional office of NSCDC pending the completion of investigation about the product and the owner, the Oyo state NSCDC Commandant solicited for more credible information from the public in order to stem the tide of insecurity in the State.ENDS.
