Zamfara First Lady Empowers 500 Women With Tailoring, Grinding Machines

Zamfara State First Lady, Hajia Aisha Bello Matawalle has reiterated her commitment to improve the economic status of women in the state.
A statement by the Press Secretary Office of the First  Lady, Zainab Shuaibu  Abdullahi said the governor’s wife made the disclosure while presenting 250 tailoring (sewing) machines and 250 grinding machines to vulnerable women under her Zamfara State Women Empowerment Scheme.
Hajia Aisha said she initiated the women empowerment scheme in order to alleviate poverty among women in the state.
“To help women explore their potentials there is a need to create an enabling environment where they will be  economically uplifted.
 “The women empowerment scheme has in the last two years improved the living standard of over 38,000 women in the state and we still keep recording more success stories across the state,” she said.
The governor’s wife added the distribution sewing and grinding machines was in consonance with her monthly distribution of N20,000 cash to 1800 vulnerable women inline with her strive to provide a sustainable means of livelihood for women.  
Hajia Aisha said the gesture was also mark the achievements of governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle administration’s two years.
She applauded the passionate commitment of her husband, Dr Bello Matawalle to the plights of women and children in the State.
“My husband Dr Bello Matawalle has being supporting the women empowerment scheme morally and financially for the sustainability of the programme,” she said.
