Kaduna Consistent In Ensuring Empowerment Of Women – Deputy Governor

Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe on Wednesday  said the government of Kaduna State has been very consistent in ensuring that they empower women for betterment of the society.


Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe who arrived Kafanchan town of Jema’a Local Government Area early hours on Wednesday, stated this during the commissioning ceremony of the Women Skills Acquisition Centre in Kafanchan, Kaduna State.

The deputy governor said that she is pleased to commission the project and also to ensure that all women help themselves, their families and the society at large.

Dr. Balarabe urged women to maximize the services made available to them at the centre and other state government initiatives designed to improve the standards of living of its citizens.

“This is one of the ways women around this areas can achieve this empowerment, there are classes of things they can do. After the acquisition of this skills, they can use the income to  help themselves, their children and also support their husbands in a quest to make a better family.

“I think this is a wonderful thing that the government through the Ministry of Human Services and Social  Development is putinng in place to ensure that we achieve this objective.


Speaking on their vision, she said, “One of the things we are looking for in Kaduna,  our vision is to have a Kaduna State that is prosperous, with healthy people who are well educated and most of all,  people who have decent standards of living.”

Dr. Hadiza enjoined all the women around not only in Jama’a Local Government Area, but from other loca government areas around who think  there is something that will benefit them to actually use the centre.

“It is not just  coming to commission, but  it is also for people whom the center is meant to serve to actually achieved it,” she said.

She assured the women of putting in their best to ensure that their programmes will benefit them, while urging the management to work in collaboration with the local government and the Ministry of Human Services and Social Development to manage it well.

“They should carry the messages to all women who are eligible to come acquire skills acquisition in this centre and develop themselves,” she appealed.

In a remark by the chairman, Jama’a Local Government Area,  Peter Danjuma Averik, he appreciated what the state government is doing in the local government area, assuring that they will continue to be loyal and to do their best to ensure there’s peace in the local government.


The Commissioner, Human Services and Social Development, Hafsat Baba  said that women have played a vital role in divers enrollment in entrepreneurship.

She said the opening of this is to learn various skills  that will help them, their families and the society at large.


The commissioner commended the Kaduna State Governor for assisting women in various ways.

“The skills development centre will go a long way in developing the society as most of the important aspect is engaging our women and youth to be self reliant as the community will embrace it,” she said.

The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza S.Balarabe was accompanied by the Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Hafsat Baba, Commissioner for Sports Development, Prof. Kabir Mato; the Commissioner for Business Innovation and Technology, Idris Nyam, traditional leaders and other state government officials.
