Oyo LG Polls Holds In 32 Councils, OYSIEC Postpones Ido LG Votes To Sunday.

The much talked local government election was held in Oyo State on Saturday amidst impressive  turn out  of voters and violence free except in three of the 33 local government areas of the state.
An early morning rain recorded in nearly all parts of the state prevented the timely take off of the election, scheduled to start at 8am and end by 3pm.
With the rainfall, which started around 5am and lasted for about 3hours , election materials and electoral officers arrived late in most of the polling stations resulting in pockets of eligible voters hanging around awaiting arrival of electoral officers.
Accreditation commenced in most of the polling centres few minutes after the arrival of the OYSIEC officials after which voting started in some parts of Ibadan, the state capital.
However, the situation was different in Ibarapa East, Ogo Oluwa and Ido local governments areas of Oyo State with the exercise greeted with pockets of crisis in Ibarapa East and Ogo Oluwa and witnessed postponement in Ido Local Government Area of the state due to the ommission of the logo of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) on the ballot paper.
Speaking on the ommission of the ZLP logo, the Chairman of Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission  (OYSIEC), Aare Isiaka Abiola Olagunju (SAN) ordered the postponement of the election in Ido local government to enable the Commission correct with he described as human error on the ballot paper.

The state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde casted his vote at his Abayomi area polling station .
