Delta Police Rescues Kidnapped Victim, Recovers Firearms, Cartridges, Car

Police operatives have rescued a lady from some suspected kidnappers after a fierce gun battle, the New Nigerian Newspapers has learnt.
One locally made double barrel cut to size, a locally made single barrel cut to size and two live cartridges were said to have been recovered from the kidnappers.
An Honda Accord vehicle marked ABJ504 BC owned by the victim identified as Fejiro Okirie, aged 31 years was also recovered from the criminals, along a tricycle with registration number ABD739VD abandoned by them.
Our correspondent reliably gathered that the victim was Kidnapped by her assailants at about 8.00pm on 14th May, 2021 while about to enter her gate at NDDC road Sapele by three unknown armed.
According to report, the armed men had prevented her entry into the gate and forced her back into the car and took her to an unknown place.
Following a complaint, the Divisional Police Officer Sapele Division CSP Harrison Nwabuisi quickly mobilised police operatives in conjunction with local vigilante and followed the direction of the suspected abductors.
Consequently, the Divisional Police Officer of Orerokpe SP Ojo Oluwole was said to have also mobilised his operatives in conjunction with local vigilante to combed all the boundaries between Sapele and Oreropke as the search continues for the bandits.
Due to the unrelenting efforts of the troop, the kidnapper were eventually sighted on 15th May, 2021 at about 11.00am and engaged in a gun duel.
As learnt, due to the superior fire power of the police operatives, they were forced to abandoned their tricycle with Reg No ABD739VD and escaped through the bush.  
The Ag Police Public Relations Officer of the Command DSP Edafe Bright confirmed the incident in a release made available to journalists on Wednesday.
He hinted that manhunt for the fleeing suspects is ongoing.

The release reads, ” Sequel to a report received by the DPO Sapele Division that  on 14/05/2021 at about 2000hrs while one fejiro okotie ‘f’ age 31yrs  was about to enter her gate at NDDC Road Sapele,  three unknown armed men blocked her,  forced her into her Honda accord vehicle and took her away. 
As soon as the complaint was received, the DPO Sapele Division CSP Harrison Nwabuisi quickly mobilized police operatives from Sapele Division in conjunction with local vigilante and followed the direction where the kidnappers  fled to, due to the tireless effort of the DPO and men mobilized for the operation, Sapele became too hot for them, as they never had the time to call for ransom because the police was constantly on their trail, hence they took their victim out of Sapele. 
The Commissioner of police Delta state CP Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA, PSC+ ordered that the victim must be rescued unhurt thereby by keeping the DPOS in the area on their toes. The DPO Sapele informed other DPOS that shared boundary with Sapele to be on the alert. 
The Divisional police officer Orerokpe Division SP OJO Oluwole who also mobilized police men from Oreropke Division in conjuction with  vigilante combed all the boundaries between Sapele and oreropke, due to their unrelenting effort,  on  15/05/2021 at about 1100hrs, the kidnappers were sighted, they engaged the police in a gun duel but due to the superior firepower of the police,  they abandoned their tricycle with Reg No ABD739VD and escaped through the bush.  On  searching the tricycle  one locally made double barrel cut to size  gun, one locally made single barrel cut to size gun with two live cartridges were recovered. 
The victim Fejiro Okotie ‘f’  aged 31 years was rescued unhurt and her Honda accord Vehicle with reg no. ABJ 504BC recovered.  Manhunt for the fleeing suspects is ongoing”.
