As Muslims across the world conclude this year’s Ramadan fast to usher in the Eid el Fitr celebration, (“the festival of Breaking the Fast”), former governor of Niger State, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu has expressed joy at the turn of the season.
In a message of felicitation to all the Muslim brotherhood, the former governor extended his greetings to all the Muslim faithful across Nigeria and particularly those in Niger state on the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fast and for the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
In the special Eid el Fitr message to the Muslim Ummah, the former governor prayed for Allah’s reward to all Muslim faithful for their diligence in prayers, fast and for their supplications throughout the thirty days of this year’s Ramadan fast.
“May we all internalised the good lessons of the Ramadan season and retain the bounteous blessings of Allah”, the statement added.
The former governor urged Muslims across Nigeria to use the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr to fervently pray for Nigeria in the face of increasing security challenges occasioned by senseless bloodletting, kidnapping, wanton destruction of properties and the general air of restiveness, uncertainty and hopelessness that now pervades the country.
“I appeal to all Nigerians to be more conscious of their environments and report any suspicious movements in and around their localities to the closest security agencies for prompt response” he said.
Dr. Babangida Aliyu charged that we must unite against our common enemy, (insecurity) and be resolute as one indivisible people for the good of all.
He noted that no nation was worth a name if its citizens are seized by armed and lawless elements at the detriment of peaceful coexistence, harmony and stability as well as well being of lives and security of properties.
“May I add quickly that those in authority must lead in the search for immediate end to the spilling of blood, the hues and cries in our land and the agonizing poverty across homes”.
He congratulated Muslims across the country for the conclusion of this year’s Ramadan fast even as he prayed for peace and harmonious existence of all.
