Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: Yobe Tops 37 New Cases, Total 165,419

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) stated that it found 37 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in six states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja on Sunday 9th May 2021.
Here are the names of states and numbers of COVID-19 pandemic infections that NCDC released yesterday: Yobe 13, Lagos 12, Akwa Ibom 6, FCT Abuja 3, Edo 1, Kaduna 1 and Ogun 1.
As of 11.46 p.m. on 9th May 2021 when NCDC released its daily COVID-19 update, Nigeria had recorded a total of 165,419 confirmed cases of the global disease since the index case was reported in the nation.
Out of the total, 156,297 people who had been infected with the worldwide virus had been treated and discharged from the country’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 2,065 patients had died of the virus in Nigeria to date.
COVID-19 caused no death in the country on Sunday.
According to the disease control agency, its report on Sunday included “a corrected computational error that occurred during the week.”
