Again, Gunmen Burn Another Police Station In Anambra, Kill Two Policemen

Barely 24 hours to assumption of office by the new Commissioner of Police, CP Christopher Adetokunbo Owolabi on Wednesday, gunmen razed down Obosi Police Station, killing two officers in the process.

Recall that same scenario played out shortly after the outgone Police Commissioner, CP Monday Kuryas took over office.

Information has it that the gunmen in large numbers stormed the police station between 11 and 12am and released all the suspects in the cell befire setting the property on fire.

The names of the 2 Police officers during the attack were given as James and Awalu.

It was learnt  that the officers were killed inside a non-functional filling station close to the police station, while trying to stop the gunmen from gaining entrance to the station.

According to sources living in the area, when other police officers on duty noticed unusual movement, they allegedly took to their heels giving the hoodlums opportunity to carry out their plot.

When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochi described the incident as unfortunate but stopped short and said, “send me Hi  on whatsapp, so I can send you the reaction. While the reaction didnt come 20 minutes after, another call placed to his mobile phone was unanswered.
