Governor Bala Mohammed has enjoined Judicial arm of Government in Bauchi State to establish a robust judicial and administrative framework to administer justice that will minimize congestion in correctional centres across the state.
The Governor, who was speaking while hosting members of the Judiciary and Nigeria Bar Association in the state on a Ramadan breakfast in Bauchi, said to achieve that his administration will continue to work with the judiciary by creating an enabling environment required for effective and efficient administration of justice.
He expressed worrisome with an increased in the number of gender based violence, crimes and criminality as well as other social vices, and called on critical stakeholders to join hands in ensuring speedy dispensation of justice.
Senator Bala Mohammed contented, “I’m very excited to host members of the judiciary family today for iftar. I must say on behalf of the Executive, we are enjoying support and collaboration with the other two arms of government which makes it possible for us to do all the developmental projects that we are doing in Bauchi.”
The Governor also called for continued understanding and collaboration between the three arms of government in the state to enable the executive provide the needed infrastructure and services to the citizens of the state.
To members of the Nigerian Bar Association in the state, the governor spoke of the state government’s readiness to engage members of the bar in governance to enable them contribute positively towards the advancement of the state especially in the area of judicial system.
He told the Bar, “I am so much grateful for what you have done to me and I want to tell you that my administration is ready to support eligible candidates amongst you who are qualified for the position of the Senior Advocates of Nigeria just to appreciate what you have done to me.”
The State Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar and the Acting Grand Khadi, Khadi Ahmed Liman have in separate remarks while applauding Governor Bala Mohammed for the number of projects executed in the State’s High Court Complex, pledged their unflinching support for the success of his administration.
“Your Excellency, we are much grateful for this honour, in Bauchi we are having a cordial relationship between the three arms of government and as judiciary, we will maintain that.”
Earlier, the Chairman of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Bauchi branch, Barrister Abubakar Abdulhamid Bununu acknowledged the foresight of the governor in working in synergy with other arms of government for growth and development of the state.
