The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division of the NIgerian Army Lagos, Major General Lawrence Fejokwu has applauded the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Lagos Command, P.K Ayeni for his resilience in the fight against oil pipeline vandalism amidst others.
He equally commended the Commandant for his hard work in ensuring the security and safety of lives and property in the state.
The GOC, who made the remark during an official visit to the headquarters of the Corp in Ikeja, charged him to remain courageous and strong against all forms of economic sabotage that may also lead to loss of lives and property in the state.
He promised to support and assist the command in the area of training and retraining of its officers and men.
According to the GOC, this will as well aid in fostering inter-agency collaboration and synergy between the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, in Lagos State.
The Commandant, CC Ayeni PK, in his response, expressed his unspeakable joy and gratitude, for having the rare opportunity and privilege, to host the highly distinguished General Officer Commanding, 81 DIVISION, NIGERIAN ARMY.
He said that his strong points and requests will include, Synergy, joint training and Retraining of Officers and men, of the command along side with the Army.
This was contained in a release by the public relations officer of the Command,Assistant Superintendent of Corps I (ASCI) Abolurin Oluwaseun.
According to the release Ayeni also eulogised and appreciated the Nigerian Army, for its past impacts and roles, towards the growth and development of the corps, generally.
While seeking for the support of the GOC in fulfilling the statutory mandates and functions of the corps, Ayeni assured him of his avowed commitment to remain dedicated towards the safety of lives and property and Protection of critical national assets belonging to the Federal, State and Local governments amongst others, in the state.
Finally, the Commandant presented a gift to the GOC in honour of his visit.
In a related development, the Commandant immediately proceeded to the office of the Regional Coordinator National Identity Management Commission ( NIMC), Mrs. Olufunmilola Opesanwo on an operational visit.
Ayeni pledged his support to the NIMC boss, in order to strengthen the cordial relationship between the two organisations in the State.
The NIMC Regional Coordinator,Mrs. Olufunmilola Opesanwo appreciated the Commandant for his visit and requested for his continuous support and collaboration in order to aid the seemless control of crowd and smooth operations, at the NIMC Head Office, in Lagos.
The Commandant confirmed the deployment, of a few officers frrom the Operation Department of the Command to the NIMC head quarters in Lagos State.
