The Muaythai Federation of Nigeria (MFN), has described the outgoing Director of Grassroots Sports, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Dr. Ademola Are as a charismatic and committed administrator, whose foresight and leadership qualities benefitted the country .
President Muaythai Federation of Nigeria, Comrade Paul Egonu showered encomiums on Ademola Are, saying his selfless service and determination has helped the country’s sports sector in driving good reforms, adding that his legacy is a guiding light for all sports administrators in the country.
He saluted Dr. Are for recording several successes during his tenure, stressing that he will continue to be the legacy people will uphold in remembrance of his service to the nation.
” Since my board was inaugurated, he has always been supportive and played a crucial role in the admittance and acceptance of Muaythai into the National Sports Festival.
“He has indeed bettered the standards of sports in all ramifications and brought many reforms and laudable initiatives to strengthen sports development in Nigeria, ” he said.
Dr. Ademola Are who was born on April 30, 1961 in Lagos Island Local Government Area of Lagos State in the course of his service as a federal civil servant, served in different capacities with various schedules.
He was the Liason/Protocol Advisory Committee at National Institute for Sports , Secretary National Sports Commission Advisory Committee on 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, NSC Delegate to 19th Commonwealth Games in India and Chef de mission 3rd Africa Youth Games Algiers, Algeria among others.
Dr. Are rose to the prestigious position of Director Grassroots Sports Development, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development before his retirement.
Amazingly, he did his job perfectly well and is a friend to all that is why he remained successful in his responsibilities and undertakings while in office which earned him several awards and honours such as the Custodian Award in 2016 at the Nigeria Dream Award, Legend Leaders gave him an award for leadership and diligence in 2015, among others.
Dr Ademola Olabisi Are will be retiring from service on the 30th (tomorrow), Friday, of this month.
