President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Francis Wale Oke on Thursday asked the Federal government to approach the security challenges of the country with utmost seriousness
Bishop Wale Oke in a release from his Media office also invoked Gods judgement on those behind the kidnapping, banditry and other heinous crimes in the country.
The PFN President stressed that this became necessary to avoid Nigeria as a country from retrogressing, adding, it was unfortunate that the situation in the country was increasingly becoming drearisome by the day.
Bishop Wale Oke maintained that though, security was every bodys business, the time has come for government to do more in ensuring the protection of lives and property of the populace.
” Nothing compares to peace and in its absence at any given society, development is never achieved. So unless our government fixes our present challenges, our economic will continue to nosedive and be in the doldrums”, he said
Bishop Wale Oke added that peace was central to the advancement of any nation, lamenting that peace was fast becoming an alien to our national life.
He however warned those ” remotely or directly connected to the on-going shenanigans in the country to desist or face the wrath of God”, adding, “It`s not too late for all those involved in our current security challenges, whether directly or indirectly, to repent”
” God abhors bloodshed and as such ,we should stop the senseless and mindless killings going on in the country. This is to mitigate the growing concerns, agitations and apprehensions in our land”
Bishop Oke then urged Nigerians to be conscious of their environment, and ” we shall continue to pray for the peace of this land but our government should do the needful to arrest the gliding situation”.
