FNPH Moves To End Medical Pilgrimage, Acquires 4 Kidney Dialysis Machines, Others

Speaking with newsmen in the COVID-19 Complex inside the Hospital, the  Medical Director, Professor Abdulkareem Jika Yusuf said “the Dialysis unit which now has four brand new dialysis machines is part of the Federal Government COVID-19 emergency funds and it is aimed at handling kidney failure, poison and Hemo dialysis.

“Also, the Dialysis Unit is equiped with Reserve Osmosis System which is for washing kidney and blood.

“Nigerians have spent huge amount travelling abroad for dialysis.  This is conscious strategy to reduce the number of cases that have to travel out of this country for medical attention,” Yusuf added.

On the molecular lab, the Medical Director revealed that, “the Laboratory will soon kick start serious infectious Diseases Diagnosis, as you can  see the building is far away from the others because of its sensitivity.

“Other medical interventions ready for use are the Bio Chemistry and Humatologyical labs for checking blood.parametres, constituents, balance and how they derange.

“The 16-beded Isolation centre was initially planned for ten beds but expanded to 16 and will also be commissioned in June this year.

“With over 200 bed spaces, the hospital has acquired 2 power generators. One is150KVA and the other is 250KVA,” Yusuf explained.

He assured the public of accessible and affordable services as soon as it’s commissioned.

“I can assure you that our services are affordable. We are one of the cheapest Federal institutions. Even when people don’t have money, we have an indigent patients’ fund that is managed by the staff of the hospital,” he disclosed.

He further assured of their commitment to ensure that all the facilities provided are maintained.

“We run a robust revolving fund which is meant to cater for the maintenance of all these facilities and with good management of the fund I believe that we’ll be able to manage them,” he assured.
