Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria (PPFN) has given assurances that it would facilitate the distribution of reproductive health kits worth 25 million Naira to 32 primary healthcare centers in Chikun and Kaduna North Local Government Areas.
The donation was made by the United Nations Population Fund to Kaduna State Government.
The Reginal Coordinator of PPFN North West Region, Mrs. Elizabeth Joe gave the assurance during the handover of the items to the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Baloni at her ministry in Kaduna.
Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria as the lead implementing partner of UNFP Civil Society Engagement (CSOE) Covid 19 Response Project, and under the leadership of the relevant State MDAs, will facilitatae the distribution of the items to the 32 implementing health facilities in Chikun and Kaduna North Local Government Areas of Kaduna state.
Mrs. Elizabeth explained that the CSOE and RCCE projects implemented in close collaboration with the Ministry of HumanServices and Social Development Kaduna State Primary Health Care Development Agency and Civil Society Organizations notably: Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria Education as a vaccine (EVA) as well as with local community organizations.
The Head of United Nations Population Fund in the North, Mariama Danboyi said that Kaduna State is among 10 states selected for the support.
Some of the items included consignments of reproductive health kits and personal protection equipment among others.
Receiving the consignment, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Baloni pledged to ensure the distribution of the items to the designated health centers.
