Following the crisis that engulfed Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, an elder statesman, Mr. Adamu Bature has commended Mr Fancies A. Sani Zimbo, an aspirant in the coming election in the local government area.
Speaking to New Nigerian in Kaduna, the elder statesman observed that efforts must be made to choose a credible person as the council chairman to use his God given ability to bring all the ethnic groups together for the overall peace and unity of the local government.
He added that efforts should be made to do away with politics of political party, tribe or where the candidate comes from, stressing that efforts should be to look at someone that would bring total understanding among the different ethnic groups with the view of working together as an entity.
According to the elder statesman, “At my age, l should be able to critically give an honest analysis of any person especially when it comes to who lead the local government like Zangon Kataf that needs to have wealth of experience, exposure and the willingness to faithfully lead the people of the local government to greater heights. To the best of my ability, Francis A. Sani Zimbo stands a better chance to bring peace and unity if given the opportunity to show case his potentials as a true leader of the people because l have been following his activities meant to ensure peace in the area.
“I have as an elder statesman, who critically observed people’s contribution in ensuring peace among the ethnic groups particularly the youths, l have seen Mr. Francis A. Sani Zimbo to be above equal in his efforts bring the youths irrespective of tribe together for the benefit of the local government to enhance its standards of living.
“Mr. Francis A. Sani Zimbo has participated as a councillor at different terms and as a Special Adviser in the local government, however, stands a better chance who understands the problems and the feelings of the people on how best to harmonize the different ethnic groups as a family for the development of the council.”
The elder statesman observed that time has come for all and sundry to support the aspiration of Mr. Francis A. Sani Zimbo towards ensuring turning around in the local government for the benefits of its people, the state and the country for peaceful coexistence.
He urged the people to desist from the politics of political party, tribe or religion but embrace the politics that would ensure total transformation of the Council that will ensure sanity for even peace, unity and development of the area.
He called on the stakeholders in the local government to support the aspiration of Mr. Francis A. Sani Zimbo, assuring that with what he has seen of the aspirant, his leadership style is all that the local government needs in order to usher the area as a pace setter for other local governments in the state to follow in all spheres of life.
The elder statesman, therefore, called on all in the local government to critically time when attacks have been taking place to see the local government election as an opportunity to elect a council chairman that would work for the restoration of peace and unity of all tribes in the area.
He added, “With the local government election fast approaching, efforts should be made to elect a credible candidate because it is an opportunity for us to consolidate on the activities of the outgoing council leadership to make sure we have the right person to bring all the various together to ensure togetherness and sence of belonging.”
