Commercial Tricycle Operator Caught In Robbery Act In Delta

Police operatives in Delta State have reportedly arrested a commercial tricycle operator over alleged involvement in armed robbery.
Our correspondent gathered that the suspect is a member of a robbery gang that usually blocks unsuspecting motorists with his tricycle along major roads and disposes them of their valuables under gun point.
Luck was said to have ran against the suspect identified as Kingsley Godday, 23, when he was apprehended by police operatives attached to “A” Division Warri following complaint by a commercial bus driver.
The suspect, along others at large, were alleged to have blocked the bus of the driver (name withheld) with a tricycle marked SGD 430 VC, painted in Delta State commercial colour along Okere road Warri on 22nd April 2021 at about 7.30pm.
One of the occupants of the tricycle was said to have  brought out a cut to size gun and dispossessed  the driver and  his passengers of their phones and other valuables.  
The Ag Police Public Relations Officer Edafe Bright confirmed the arrest in a release made available to journalists on Saturday.
According to the release, the suspect had earlier been arrested in connection  with foiled armed robbery attack where police men from ‘A’ division Warri  recovered a tricycle and two empty cartridges.
It reads, ”  22/04/2021 at about 19930hrs  distrpess call was received by the DPO ‘A’ Division Warri CSP T.Y. Mahmud  from one town service bus driver (name withheld ) ,  that while he was on his routine transport business  with passengers on board  along Okere road Warri, a tricycle with registration number  SGD 430 VC  blocked his  bus, one of the occupant  brought out a cut to size gun and dispossessed him and  his passengers of their phones and other valuables.
He raised an alarm for help and  in the process  the suspects  took to their heels with the stolen items, while  the driver of the tricycle one Kinsley Godday  “m” age 23 yrs  was arrested,  interestingly the  same suspect Kingsley Godday  was earlier  arrested in connection  with foiled armed robbery attack where police men from ‘A’ division Warri  recovered a tricycle and two empty cartridges and the said   suspect rushed to the station and reported  that armed men snatched his tricycle from him, and the tricycle was released to him after proving ownership of the said Tricycle, but  luck ran against him on this time as he was caught in the act.  
Investigation and interrogation with a view to arrest the fleeing members of the gang is ongoing”.
