The Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria (IMAN), Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH)/Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria has embarked on distribution of foodstuff to widows, orphans and other needy persons.
Speaking during the distribution of the items, Dr. Yakubu the branch Secretary General said the gesture was part of the association’s agenda to support the needy.
He said, the association did not stop at giving food to the needy, but also assists widows and orphans with medical attention and examination fees to the orphans.
It would be recalled that IMAN indicated interest to prepare packages for 120 poor widows, poor orphans and other needy ones as first batch.
“We zoned it majorly to the Mil Goma Community, while taking some individuals from other communities.
“The list we received has exceeded the 120 planned as estimated,” he said.
The Sec.Gen said they packaged two tiers of rice, two tiers of millet, one tier of sugar and 100 cubes of spices each to be distributed to the poor widows, poor orphans and other poor families.
“We have received many names as we requested and we shall ensure the rules are adhered to so that the packs are delivered to the right persons in sha Allah.
“As for the ABUTH Muslim security staff, they are not left out. We have received a list of about 74 individuals, then about 50 agajis, IMAN staff.
“This group shall be given their portion on Friday after Juma’at prayers in sha Allah, including all other categories mentioned in our earlier communication.
“We are grateful to Allah for granting us this grace as an Ummah to be able to support our immediate community we worship with.”
