*commends Oyo Police command, other security agencies over mega rally

Leader of the umbrella body of all Yoruba groups clamouring for self determination, Ilana Omo Oodua, Professor Banji Akintoye on Thursday declared that the group will always be law abiding in its on going clamour for Oduduwa Republic.
Professor Akintoye made this known in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan in appreciation to the Oyo state police command on its successful Mega rally in Ibadan last Saturday
He pointed out that there will be no going back in the group’s is commitment towards conducting all its affairs in a peaceful and orderliness manner in the quest of its clamour for self determination of Oduduwa Republic.
” This is the way we of the Yoruba self determination movement operate and will always operate, and it is our expectation as Law abiding and peaceful citizens that Nigeria’s Law enforcement agencies will continue to cooperate with us and make it possible to operate in the peaceful and law abiding manner as we are now universally known for.”, he said.
The Ilana Omo Oodua leader added, “it will be remembered by all the people of Nigeria and by all the law enforcement authorities of the land that the Yoruba self determination movement has always professed it’s commitment to peaceful and law abiding processes in all its activities. Let it not be forgotten that on ……we held a similar rally in support of Amotekun in our capital cities of Lagos, Abeokuta, Ibadan, Osogbo, Akure and Ado Ekiti on the same day and everything went similarly peacefully and without any threat to peace”.
“All the Yoruba self determination organizations and all other Yoruba citizens who participated in the Yoruba self-determination rally on the 17th day of April,2021 in the great city of Ibadan, hereby express gratitude and commendation to the Commissioner of Police and all his/her officers for the professional manner in which the Oyo State Police Command and other security agencies covered and protected that great Yoruba self determination rally.
