The Honourable Member representing Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency, Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo, has offered 30 youth from his constituency full scholarship on Supersonic Artificial Intelligence, Cyberspace Superhighway Digital Skills and other forms of ICT programmes.
Beneficiaries of the scholarship were selected based on merit from the three Local Government areas in Enone Constituency irrespective of political affiliations.
A statement by Mr. Andrew Agbese, the Media Adviser to Dr. Ottah Agbo, explained that the lawmaker registered the 30 persons for the Hiit online training and footed the bill 100 per cent.
Hiit, a global ICT firm, provides quality and affordable access to online training and education using the criteria of Learning Outcomes and Return on Investment (ROI) and combines a variety of training methodologies such as online(real-time) interactive classes, videos, whiteboards, simulations labs and has a 25 year experience in  ICT training and education.
Dr. Ottah Agbo said he took the decision to sponsor his constituents to expand their knowledge in ICT as it will enhance their potentials and give them an edge in the ever expanding knowledge driven world economy.
He said with the competitiveness in all sectors, Enone youths must be properly equipped to hold their heads high wherever they find themselves as the future is bleak for youth who lack training in ICT.
The Lawmaker urged beneficiaries to be serious with the programme so that they can in turn impart knowledge to others.
Mr. Ernest Okpe, one of the beneficiaries of the scholarship has commended Dr. Ottah Agbo for the kind gesture.
He said, “The highest investment a leader can have in his followers is human capital development. This is what distinguished Senator Kwankwaso from other leaders. This is what has gotten you a comfortable place in the comity of the very few visionary leaders in our country today.
“This means you are thinking about our growth and grooming us to be better leaders when the baton is passed to us. May God bless and replenish you sir. You have steadily shown that if given a larger responsibility, you can do more. We will not forget.”
CEO of Hiit in Nigeria, Mr. Kayode Shobajo at the opening ceremony of the programme on Monday, also commended Dr. Ottah Agbo for sponsoring as many as 30 persons for the programme .
He said the programme is designed in such a way that beneficiaries would go home with the best form of ICT training at the end of the programme.
He called on other politicians to emulate Dr. Ottah Agbo by keying into the Information Technology by sponsoring their people into such programmes.
Dr. Ottah Agbo promised that by next year more people will be enrolled into the programme in order to broaden the knowledge of his constituents and equip them for the future.
