NIS Possesses Ability To Serve Intelligence Needs Of Nigeria – Babandede

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has the ability to serve the intelligence needs of the country, its Comptroller General Muhammad Babandede has disclosed.
He explained that the NIS via the Data Base of Nigerians, Non- Nigerians Bio-data and Biometrics harvested in its operational services and stored in the Technology Building possesses the capability.
This, according to him is secured in the data hub linked to all the International Airports, Sea and Land border frontiers, passport offices and the INTERPOL i-24/7 SLTD platform and the Foreign Missions where NIS officials are posted as Immigration Attaches.
Babandede made the disclosure during the visit of the Chief of Defence Staff General Leo Irabor to the headquarters of NIS Technology and Data Processing Centre in Abuja.
Represented by a Deputy Comptroller General I.J Idris, who received the Chief of Defence Staff, Babandede applauded him for the visit and promised to share relevant Intelligence with the Military and other security services.
This was contained in a release by the Service Public Relations Officer Sunday James, a Deputy Comptroller made available to journalists.
According to the release, General Irabor called for more collaboration between the NIS and the military and other security agencies leveraging on the robust Database available with the Immigration Service, stressing that it is useful for security and Military response operations.
He commended Babandede for his Visionary leadership and pledge his support for the service.

The CDS General Irabor after his meeting had a facility tour of units within the NIS Technology Building where he call for More collaboration between the NIS and the Military and other security services leveraging on the robust Database available with NIS that is useful for security and Military response operations.
The DCG IJ Idris who received the CDS on behalf of the Comptroller General thanked the CDS for the visit and promised to share relevant Intelligence with the Military and other security services.
He noted that NIS key infrastructure the Technology Building has the ability to serve the intelligence need of the country via the Database of Nigerians and Non-Nigerians Biodata and Biometrics harvested in the NIS operational services and stored in the Technology Building secured data hub linked to all the International Airports,Sea and Land Border frontiers,passport offices and the INTERPOL i-24/7 SLTD platform and the Foreign Missions where NIS officials are posted as Immigration Attaches”.
