Ramadan: Fintiri Congratulates Muslims

Following the sighting of the moon in some parts of the country on Monday evening, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has congratulated the Muslim Ummah  for the successful commencement of Ramadan fast on Tuesday.

This was contained in a press statemwnt signed and made available to newsmen by his Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.

 According to the statement, Ramadan is one of the pillars of Islam and the most sacred month of the year in the Islamic culture which capable Muslims fast for the period of 29 or 30 days. 

“We should during this blessed Ramadan abstain from pleasures and pray to become closer to God. It is also a time for families and people to gather and pray for abundant reward from Allah.

“Ramadan is a period of sacrifice and renunciation as well as reflection and spiritual growth. It is also a powerful symbol of unity, with Muslims around the world fasting simultaneously”, the governor stated.

He therefore, urged Muslims in Adamawa to use the Ramadan period to strengthen relationships  and assist the needy in the society, while promoting peaceful coexistence in the state.

 While praying to God to grant adherents the ability to utilise every moment of this blessed month, Fintiri also appealed to the faithful to utilize the Ramadan period by praying fervently to God to bring to an end, the security challenges bedevilling the Country and seek God to guide the nation’s leaders in the act of governance.
