OAU VC Commends University’s Immediate Past Governing Council

Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede on Tuesday lauded members of the Immediate past Governing Council of the University.
Professor Ogunbodede during a chat with journalists applauded the immediate past Governing Council members  for their invaluable contributions and selflessness to the overall development of the Obafemi Awolowo University . 
According to the OAU Vice Chancellor, the Dr. Yemi Ogunbiyi – led Council was not only proactive in its approach to issues, but also tremendously helped the University to maintain a healthy relationship with all the Unions on campus, thereby making the environment very conducive for learning and research. 
Professor Ogunbodede pointed out that the Council created a level playing ground for all the applicants for the position of Vice Chancellor of the University, and  also maintained superlative neutrality throughout the exercise that produced the current administration. 
The Vice Chancellor then wished members of the Institution’s immediate past Governing Council success in their future endeavours and urged them “to always see OAU as their baby which will constantly require their nurturing”. 
New Nigerian recalled that the Federal Government has constituted another Governing Council for Obafemi Awolowo University. 
The five – man Council, which is expected to be inaugurated on Monday, 19th April, 2021, is led by Chief Osita Oscar Udoji. Others are Captain  Bala Jubrin, Honourable Eugene Odo, Dr. Lateef Babata and Alhaji Saidu Bako.
