N200m Worth Property Destroyed As Fire Razes Bodija Plank Market

It was confusion galore on Monday night as no fewer than 18 plank shops were razed by fire, leaving about  N200 million worth of property completely burnt during the inferno.
New Nigerian gathered from sources close to the plank market that as at the time of sending this report, the cause of the fire incident which affected  plank shops at the Zone 7 axis of the market is yet to be known.
Chairman of the Bodija  Zone 7  plank market, Alhaji Daud Owoyemi Ogunrin, in a chat with newsmen on Tuesday disclosed that about 18 plank shops were burnt and 40 traders affected losing millions of property into the fire incident.
According to Alhaji Ogunrin, he was informed of the fire incident at past 8pm on Monday, rushed down to the market only to see their shops and planks already burnt to ashes with few others half burnt resulting in the loss of  property worth over N200million in all 
“I was informed some minutes after 8 pm yesterday that our shops are on fire. We came here and everything have been destroyed”, he said.
The Chairman added, “We cannot say the cause of the incident, but eighteen shops have been destroyed. We have more than forty people who have property here. We are beging God to replenish us. .We are calling on well spirited Nigerians and the government to assist us. We do not know where to start.”
When New Nigerian visited the burnt  plank market, some of the affected plank sellers were seen looking helpless with other parking their burnt goods and items
