Suspected bandits have allegedly killed four (4) males in the early hours of Monday in Wawarafi village in Atyap Chiefdom, Zangon Kataf local government area of Kaduna state.
A source who told Daily Post said six (6) houses including foodstuffs and other valuables have also been destroyed by the suspected Fulani militias.
According to the source, “The Fulani militias invaded the village in their large number and started shooting killing the four males and destroying the houses and other valuables. We stood our ground and were able to repel them (Fulani militias) back if not the destruction would have been more than that.”
He explained that soldiers came to the village last night but had all returned back to their base.
He added, “As it is now, we are recounting our losses of our brothers killed and the properties destroyed following the invasion of the suspected Fulani militias in the village.”
The source explained that besides the soldiers that came last night, as at the time of filing this report, no police personnel has visited the village to ascertain the damage done to the area.
He called on the government and security agencies to ensure the protection of its people against what he called agents of darkness that are out to kill and destroy.
The local government chairman and police could not be reached to confirmed the attack on the village.
The Kaduna State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Honourable Samuel Aruwan however, in a statement, confirmed the attack and casualties.
