Zone Rs.12 of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) has put in place some strategies in ensuring a hitch-free Easter celebration with special emphasis on free flow of vehicles, traffic calming and lane discipline.
The placing of strategies which are in line with RSHQ directive, said FRSC Zonal Commander, ACM Rotimi Adeleye, is for Easter Special Patrol Operation in ensuring free flow of traffic, is for a weeklong period, from Wednesday 31st March to Wednesday 7th April, 2021.
FRSC Zonal Commander Adeleye in a press statement made available to journalists in Bauchi, said a total of 1051 personnel were deployed for the Easter celebration irrespective of the low celebration in the zone.
He gave a breakdown of the personnel development as 430 in Bauchi state, 347 in Borno state while Yobe state has 274 personnel to manned the sub-regional zone for the success of the Easter Special Patrol Operations.
The Easter Special Patrol Operations, according to him, would among others, similarly ensure free flow of traffic, reduce road traffic crash, road traffic fatality and road traffic incidents.
ACM Rotimi T. Adeleye explained that for the strict enforcement of road traffic laws and regulations, a mobile court will operate during the period, with prompt rescue and response to distress calls, as well as speedy removal of obstructions from highways, among others.
He assured that the command would ensure personnel mounts all black spots in the zone to ensure safe drive along the roads throughout the Easter period, as Zebra 29, 30 and 31 were located at Bishi in Alkaleri LGA and Rimin Zayam and Magama Gumau in Toro LGA will be at alert for prompt rescue services.
Adeleye also assured that zonal clinic in Bauchi, help area in Alkaleri and Beninshiekh will be on 24hrs active service while the tow truck located at RS12.31 Potiskum has been deployed to tow/clear the routes of obstructions.
