Oyo State Police Command on Thursday declared that it is not under any pressure to release suspects or to avert justice on the Ibarapa/ Oke Ogun areas security challenges
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Ngozi Onadeko made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan signed by the Command Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), CSP Gbenga Fadeyi.
CP Onadeko emphasized that Oyo State Police coymmand “is committed to discharging its duties in combating crime and criminality in the state.”
She maintained that the time has come ” for all to retain trust in the Nigeria Police, disabusing their mind of any tenet of justice denial due to any form of social influence.
” The Command wishes to share the status of the following recent cases: COMMISSIONER OF POLICE VS. ABDULAHI YAKUBU WAKILICharge number MI/231C/2021 Case of conspiracy, murder, kidnapping and armed robbery: Location: court 1. Date of arraignment: 16/3/2021. Date of adjournment: 17/5/2021.”
CP Ngozi Onadeko gave other cases as “COMMISSIONER OF POLICE VS LAWAL OSENI & ALIYU OSENI. Charge number MI/301C/2021.Case of Conspiracy and Murder .Location: court 2Date of arraignment: 31/3/2021Date of adjournment: 19/5/2021.COMMISSIONER OF POLICE VS. AYUBA TUKUR .Charge number MI/248C/2021.Case of Conspiracy and Murder . Location: court 2Date of arraignment: 18/3/2021Date of adjournment: 26/5/2021 among others.”
CP Ngozi Onadeko stated that “the Command will continue to discharge its duties in combating crime and criminality in the state, hence the need for all to retain trust in the Nigeria Police, disabusing their mind of any tenet of justice denial due to any form of social influence”.
She however charged the people of the state to continue to supply the Police with credible information and to be law abiding.
