LG Polls: Kaduna Deputy Gov Seeks Support For Women

The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, on Thursday has called on women to support women that are ready to  participate in the forthcoming elections.
Dr. Hadiza Balarabe expressed this when she received a coalition of women groups under the umbrella of Jam’iyyar Matan Arewa on a courtesy visit to Government House in Kaduna.
The aim of their visit was to acknowledge Governor Nasir el-Rufai for being gender inclusive in his administration.

Leader of the delegation, Florence Aya, canvassed support for women aspirants in the forthcoming local government council elections.

Dr. Hadiza Balarabe said this is an opportunity to see them again.

” it is usually very pleasing when you see your sisters coming in to see you.

“There are so many women out there,  this is my message for them,  it is a day to actually recognize our achievements but not only that, to also try to  look at issues that pertain women who have suffered one form of conflict or the other and to provide that support so that they will know that we are all together for the achievements or in terms when we have issues.

“Thank you for sticking together and I am sure we will continue to do that,  we are our sister’s keepers and we should be seen to be doing that.

“This is a government of equal opportunities and we will continue to champion that, it is always been what the Governor says but he has always put that into action.

“We will try as much as possible to put people first because we know that by doing that we  make life better for everyone.

“I heard the elections is coming up, I want us to put our best foot, let’s not go there because we are women but because we have something very solid and concrete to offer.

“We are equal to the task,  we can compete with anybody if we believe that, that will go a long way in helping us because we are strong, we are competent, we have the capacity, let’s go there with that determination, with confidence and I am sure we will make a difference.

“It is not going to be easy, the message is to support one another, this is my task,  how can we make it possible for our women who are coming out for elections, how can we put out our voices, it is that strong will that we should have, she noted.
