Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 371 New Cases, Total 158,906

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced that the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN) recorded 371 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja on Monday 8th March 2021.
The names of infected states are as follows: Lagos 102, Enugu 65, Edo 56, FCT 23, Ogun 20, Osun 18, Bayelsa 18, Rivers 15, Kaduna 14, Plateau 10, Oyo 8, Bauchi 7, Kano 5, Delta 4, Nasarawa 3, Niger 2 and Ekiti 1.
As of 11.54 p.m. on 8th March 2021 Nigeria had had a total of 158,906 confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic since the index case was reported in the country.
Out of the total, 138,502 COVID-19-positive patients had been treated and discharged from the nation’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,982 people have been killed by the global disease in the country to date.
COVID-19 killed 13 persons in Nigeria on Monday.
NCDC said that its discharges on Monday included 104 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.
