Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: Enugu Leads In 269 New Cases, Total 158,506



A daily update account of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) showed that the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN) recorded 269 new cases of Novel CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) in 18 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja  on Sunday 7th March 2021.
The states that the pandemic attacked yesterday were: Enugu 78, Bauchi 37, Rivers 22, Imo 18, Ogun 16, FCT 15, Akwa Ibom 13, Kaduna, Kebbi 11, Kwara 9, Edo 7, Ekiti 6, Borno 5, Yobe 5, Kano 4, Nasarawa 3, Osun 3, Anambra 2 and Plateau 2.
As of the end of 7th March 2021 Nigeria had recorded a total of 158,506 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the index case was found in the nation.
Out of the total, 137,875 cases of the worldwide virus had been treated and discharged from the country’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,969 people who contracted the global disease had died in the country to date.
COVID-19 killed five patients in Nigeria on Sunday.
NCDC said that its discharges on Sunday included 80 community recoveries in Kwara State managed in line with guidelines.
