Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 479 New Cases, Total 156,496

In Nigeria, 479 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were detected in 21 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja on Tuesday 2nd March 2021.
Here are the names of COVID-19-infected states yesterday: Lagos 153, Enugu 75, Rivers 50, FCT 40, Kaduna 18, Ebonyi 17, Plateau 17, Edo 17, Borno 16, Oyo 12, Kano 11, Abia 10, Cross River 10, Taraba 9, Nasarawa 7, Bauchi 4, Bayelsa 3, Delta 3, Ekiti 2, Ogun 2 and Akwa Ibom 1.
As of the end of 2nd March 2021 the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN) had reported having a total of 156,491 cases of the global pandemic since the index case occurred in the nation.
Out of the total, 134,551 people were treated and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,923 deaths had been recorded in the country to date.
COVID-19 killed eight persons in Nigeria on Tuesday.
In its daily update on the worldwide virus, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) wrote on its twitter account that its discharges on Tuesday included 81 community recoveries in Lagos State and 70 in the FCT managed in line with guidelines.
