Fish farming has become a very big business venture that can sustain the family and community to stand on their own particularly the life after retirement.
Yahaya Usman a civil servant has ventured into fish farming as part of his preparation for retirement .
Usman in an interview with New Nigerian at the site of his pond at Dogarawa during second harvest of the fish.
The fish pond is under the “Bidnew-dimension Fish Farming and Integrated Services” with Yahaya Usman as the chairman.
He said the fish pond had more than 200.000 species of fish in 2018.
Yahaya Usman also said he spent over N2m in setting up the fish pond this he said, is as a result of the interest he has in the fishery development.
In his remarks, Dr. Onimisi Hassan of National Agricultural Extension Research and Liason Services (NAERLS/ABU) said venturing into fishery will boost the socio-economy of the people.
