Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 600 New Cases, Total 155,076



Nigeria recorded 600 new cases of Novel CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) on Friday 26th February 2021.
The new COVID-19 infections were detected in 20 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja as follows: Lagos 169, Taraba 92, Ogun 65, Cross River 57, FCT 38, Rivers 28, Kwara 26, Akwa Ibom 25, Osun 21, Plateau 12, Borno 9, Gombe 9, Abia 8, Ebonyi 8, Ekiti 7, Kano 7, Delta 6, Oyo 6, Bauchi 3, Nasarawa 3 and Sokoto 1.
An update on the pandemic released by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) indicated that as of 11.28 p.m. on 26th February 2021, a total of 155,076 confirmed cases of the worldwide virus had been reported in the country since the index case occurred in it.
Out of the total, 132,544 patients who had the disease had been treated and discharged from the nation’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,902 patients had died of the virus in the country to date.
COVID-19 killed 11 persons in Nigeria yesterday.
NCDC said that on Friday it recorded 204 community recoveries in Lagos State, 124 in Kwara State, 121 in Osun State and 73 in Rivers State managed in line with guidelines.
