Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 655 New Cases, Total 153,842

In Nigeria, 20 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were infected with 655 new cases of Novel CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) on Wednesday 24th February 2021.
The states that were infected by the pandemic on Wednesday are: Lagos 240, Ogun 88, Rivers 56, FCT 51, Kaduna 43, Kano 25, Plateau 21, Taraba 19, Edo 17, Abia 15, Delta 13, Nasarawa 11, Akwa Ibom 10, Kwara 10, Oyo 10, Kebbi 9, Borno 5, Bayelsa 4, Gombe 4, Ekiti 2 and Osun 2.
As of 11.43 p.m. on 24th February 2021 Nigeria had recorded a total of 153,842 confirmed cases of the global virus since the index case was found in the country.
Out of the total, 130,818 people who contracted COVID-19 had been treated and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while the disease had killed 1,885 patients in the nation to date.
COVID-19 killed 11 persons in Nigeria on Wednesday.
Further on its COVID-19 daily update, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) wrote on its twitter platform that its discharges on Wednesday included 297 community recoveries in Lagos State and 93 community recoveries in Edo State managed in line with guidelines.
