Adorn African Attires To Promote Cultural Heritage, Summit Participants Charged

Participants at the 2021 African Migration Summit (AMS) holding in Ghana between February 25 to 26 have been greatly advised to adorn African attires to promote the cultural heritage of the continent.
 A member of the African Union Labour-Migration Advisory Commiittee – representing the Diaspora African Forum, H.E. Rev. Dr. A. K. Ocansey gave the admonition in a message to intending participants at the on coming summit in Ghana.

This was contained in a statement signed by the President of the Journalists International Forum For Migration, Ajibola Abayomi stated issued on Tuesday.
“We have to show that we are comfortable in our own beautiful attires and be grounded and proud of our culture,” said the multiple international award winning  member of the African Union Labour-Migration Advisory Commiittee – representing the Diaspora African Forum, H.E. Rev. Dr. A. K. Ocansey. 

Her Excellency, who is a USA trained professional Engineer, migration expert,  philanthropist and best selling author of “Deadly Work or Decent Work?: The Africa-Middle East Domestic Workers’ Migration Process” is always seen in her beautiful African attires. 
The avid Pan-Africanist,  who has been at the forefront of campaigning for decent work for Africans as against deadly ones they are often being lured to accept  overseas – especially at the Middle East – also urged participants at the summit to reflect on  the state of migration in Africa and chart a new course that would dissuade the minds of the youths from Irregular migration.
The summit, themed –  Labour Migration: Shifting the Paradigm to Benefit Africa – is powered by the JIFORM and the Nekotech Center for Labour Migration Diplomacy.

Several African leaders and international migration policy makers and stakeholders are expected globally in the hybrid summit, which will be held on zoom virtually and at the Acrra International Conference Center in Accra physically.
Expected dignitaries include: H.E. President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana; Executive Governor of Cross River State, Nigera, Sen. Professor Ben Ayade;  Dr. Ocansey – who doubles as Chair of Nekotech Center and the United Nations Youth Association-Ghana, Director of Diaspora Affairs, Office of the President of Ghana-Mr Akwasi Awus Ababio, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Erieka Bennett- Head of Mission Diaspora African Forum, Hon. Alpha Timbo – Minister of Labour and Social Security,  Professor Patrick Lumumba from Kenya; Chairman House of Representatives, Commiittee on Disapora Matters in Nigeria, Hon Tolulope Akande, H.E. Ambassador Winifred Nii Okai Hammond, Ghana’s Ambassador to Egypt with concurrent assignment to Lebanon, Sudan, Palestine and Syria, Rev.Dr. Lawrence Tetteh and Ghana’s foremost Migration policy maker- Professor Joseph Teye, Director of Migration Studies, University of Ghana, Legon among many others.
Participating agencies are International Organization for Migration (IOM), Nigeria, Ghana and Gambia; Center for Migration Studies, University of Ghana, Legon; Altec Global Incorporation, Canada and former Minister of Immigration and Citizens ship, Canada, Hon Gerry Weiner and others.
The event is to be beamed from the Accra International Conference Center and participants across the globe are enjoined to registrar via africanmigrationsummit.org for virtual participants.
