Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 521 New Cases, Total 152,074

In Nigeria, on Sunday February 21, 2021, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) tweeted that 521 new cases of Novel CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) infected 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The global virus infected the following states: Lagos 166, Ogun 52, Rivers 47, Adamawa 37, Ebonyi 37, Akwa Ibom 25, Osun 21, Bayelsa 18, Kaduna 17, Oyo 16, FCT 15, Ekiti 14, Kano 12, Edo 12, Borno 9, Yobe 8, Ondo 6, Nasarawa 4, Bauchi 2 and Kwara 3.
According to NCDC, as of 11.43 p.m. on 21st February 2021 a total of 152,074 cases of COVID-19 pandemic had been found in Nigeria since the index case was reported in the country.
Out of the total, 128,619 carriers of the pandemic had been treated and discharged from the nation’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,839 deaths had resulted from the worldwide disease in the nation to date.
COVID-19 killed eight persons in Nigeria on Sunday.
NCDC said that its discharges on Sunday included 228 community recoveries in Lagos State and 43 community recoveries in Kwara State managed in line with guidelines.
