*says it has nothing to do with Fulani/Yoruba clash, we are trailing perpetrators

Oyo State Police command is now probing the shootng of some cows by yet to be identified gunmen at Alafara Community in Ologuneru area of Ibadan on Saturday night.
The state Commissioner of Police CP Ngozi Vivian Onadeko made this known in a statement issued on her behalf by the Oyo State Police command Public Relations Officer (PPRO) CSP Gbenga Fadeyi.
CP Vivian Onadeko declared that the shooting of the cows has nothing to do with the Fulani/Yoruba clash and that Police from the Oyo State Police command are presently on the trail of the perpetrators of the shooting of the cows “The Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, Ngozi Onadeko, wishes to state that upon information received from a good spirited member of the public that some suspected person(s) today 20/02/2021 at about 0720 hrs, invaded a cow settlement at Alafara community Ologuneru area of Ibadan and fired some cows. Immediately the incident happened, Police teams were drafted to the area to ascertain the immediate and the remote cause of the incident, and investigation had been ordered immediately into the incident, while the Police are on the trail of the perpetrators(s) of the dastardly act. “, she said
CP Vivian Onadeko added, “consequent upon this, the CP says it is wordy of note that the incident has nothing to do with Fulani/Yoruba clash and implored the people of Oyo State and the general public to disregard any insinuations from any quarters, while the relative peace being enjoyed by the good citizens of the State should not be allowed to be tampered with in any way by disgruntled elements. Assuring of the commitment of the Officers and men of the Command to continue to protect lives and property of the peace loving people of the State, CP Vivian Onadeko solicited constant and reliable credible information from the members of the public to enable the Police serve them better.
