Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 662 New Cases, Total 150,903



In Nigeria, 662 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) spread across 22 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja on Friday 19th February 2021.
The names of states infected by the global virus are: Lagos 167, FCT 116, Ogun 45, Kano 44, Akwa Ibom 35, Edo 34, Rivers 27, Kaduna 23, Osun 23, Kwara 22, Taraba 22, Oyo 20, Ondo 19, Plateau 14, Abia 11, Imo 11, Nasarawa 7, Niger 6, Bayelsa 5, Delta 5, Enugu 3, Ekiti 2 and Jigawa 1.
In its daily update, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) wrote on its twitter handle that as at the end of Friday Nigeria had had a total of 150,908 confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic since the index case occurred in the nation.
Out of the total, 127,500 persons who tested positive for the worldwide disease had been treated and discharged from the country’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,813 people had been killed by the virus in the country to date.
COVID-19 killed 10 patients in Nigeria on 19th February 2021.
NCDC reported that its discharges on Friday included 535 community recoveries in Lagos, 73 in Kaduna and 69 in Imo State managed in line with guidelines.
