The Emir of Dansadau in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Alhaji Hussaini Umar has called on the people to take practical steps towards building peace and security in the society.
The Emir gave the advise when he visited the Yartashar Sahabi market in the the Emirate for a peace mission.
The traditional ruler opined that there is the need for both the Hausa’s and the Fulanis to provide a working definition of peace which will propel ways and guidelines for practical steps needed in achieving sustainable peace and security.
“Our main focus should be on practical steps that can lead to advancing peace, so that we can strengthen ourselves and our communities,” he said.
Alhaji Umar added that the definition should be a model that individuals, groups or governments can employ for peace building.
“We sjould also consider how we, as individuals, can be enriched by establishing peace within our individual lives, even in the most challenging of circumstances,” he added.

The Emir said the practical steps to be taken will complement and stimulate the peace initiative of the Zamfara state government.
“We’ll supplement this guidance with examples throughout,” he said.
