Over 50 Bandits Apprehended In Delta As Police Boss Reels Out Achievements

Over 50 suspected criminals have been arrested in Delta State in the last one month, the Commissioner of Police Delta State Command Ari Mohammed Ali has disclosed.

According to the Police Commissioner, the suspected criminals elements include armed robbers, kidnappers, cultists, car snatchers, rapists, illegal firearms owners amongst others. 

The Commissioner of Police made the disclosure while reeling out his achievements in the last one month of assumption of office.

Giving the summary, the police boss said, 30 suspected cultists were arrested, including two murder suspects, two car snatchers, five unlawful firearm holders, 46 Covid-19 curfew violators, one rapist.

He hinted that six suspected kidnappers lost their lives in an exchange of gun battle with police operatives,

Ali explained that five out of the suspected kidnappers died during gun battle when a police team on investigating trip with some arrested kidnappers were ambushed by gunmen.

The Delta State Police Command within the period had recovered stolen cars, some dangerous weapons from criminal suspects while no fewer than five suspected kidnappers died when a police team on investigating trip with some arrested kidnappers were ambushed by gunmen.

” A total of 134 live cartridges, eight .9mm ammunition, two locally made guns, one Betretta pistol, one AK47 magazine, eight stolen cars and so on were recovered by the police in the State within the period”, he also said.

The Commissioner while appreciating journalists for being strategic partners, enjoined them to always verify any crime related information before publishing.
