A female irregular migrant of Cameroon extraction has been intercepted by operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Ikom, Cross River State.
Identified as Sally Kisob, 65 years old, the irregular migrant was said to have been apprehended at Joint Border Patrol Checkpoint Kilometre 8, Border Road, Ikom.
Our correspondent reliably gathered that she was nabbed by the operatives led by SI Umar Mala.
Report says she was suspected to have entered through Efraya Beach in Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The Service Public Relations Officer DCI Sunday James confirmed the report on behalf of the Comptroller General Muhammad Babandede in a release made available to journalist.
He stated that the migrant has been profiled and handed over to the operatives of the NIS at Mfum Border for necessary documentation and repatriation.
It reads, ” The Operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service at the Joint Border Patrol Checkpoint kilometre 8,Border Road Ikom Cross River State intercepted a Cameroonian on a commercial vehicle during a routine stop and search operation.
The Operatives led by SI Umar Mala of the Nigeria Immigration Service were able to identify the irregular migrant by name Sally Kisob,Female,65 years of age,she was suspected to have entered through Efraya Beach in Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The Irregular Migrant has been profiled and handed over to the operatives of the NIS at Mfum Border for necessary documentation and repatriation.
The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service Muhammad Babandede MFR commended the operatives for a job well done as he prepares to tour the state to commission a Forward Operation Base to Compliment and strengthen border patrol along the flanks”.
