*implaces political party alternative dispute resolution committee

The Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC), in Akwa Ibom State has elected a new executive to pilot the affairs of the council for the next one year in the state.
The election was conducted at the state headquarters of Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC), Uyo on Tuesday.
Those elected during the election are Hon. Ubong Emmanuel of Action Democratic Party – State Chairman, Blessing Umoh of Action Democratic Congress – Vice Chairman, Calistus Etim of Action Alliance – Secretary, and Victor Mark of APP – Assistant Secratary.
Others are Willington Odiong of SDP – Treasurer, Uduak Akaninyene of APM – Organising Secretary, Akaninyene Ekpeyong of BOOT – Publicity Secretary and Elder Basil Ekpo of NNPP – Legal Adviser.
It was observed, the election became necessary due to the deregistration of 74 political parties by INEC, a development which has effected the committee of IPAC, besides former executive overstaying their tenure.
He charged the newly elected officers to see their new position as a call to leadership, while themselves as servants. He also urged them to be magnanimous in their victory by embracing those who lost in the election.
Speaking to newsmen on the election, the Special Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State on Inter-party Affairs, Hon Dr Lawrence Udoide charged party chairmen to note that in every election, there’s always winners and loosers.
He noted that those who worked hard and consulted widely won, urging those who did not win to join hand with those who did to move the council forward.
While noting that the election is a yearly thing, he urged those who are elected to be active and justify the confidence repose in them by members of the council.
He used the opportunity to thank members of the council for their show of maturity during the election and INEC for providing a conducive environment for the conduct of the election.
In his inaugural speech, the newly elected chairman of IPAC, Hon Ubong Emmanuel promised to take the council to an enviable height through regular organization of conference, members welfare and show of support to members who due to financial constraints, can not be alive to some of their responsibilities.
He promised to partner the state government in the area of infrastructural development and other efforts to position the state on the path of economic growth.
Meanwhile the newly elected Chairman of IPAC, Hon. Ubong Emmanuel has set up Political Parties Alternative Despute Resolution Committee.
Members of the committee are Mr Lincoln Charles (State Chairman Labour Party)-Chairman, Calistus Etim (State Chairman Action Alliance)-Secretary, and Elder Basil Ekpo (State Chairman of New Nigeria People’s Party)-member.
The committee by their inauguration, is charged with the responsibility of receiving complaints from aggrieved members of the council with a view to reconciling them.
In his inaugural speech the Chairman of the committee Mr Lincoln Charles promised to be fair in the discharge of his duties calling on all aggrieved members of the council to approach the committee with expectations of fair play and justice.
