Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 1,005 New Cases, Total 144,521



Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has said that 1,005 new cases of Novel CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) were found in 18 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Friday 12th February 2021.
The global pandemic attacked the following areas: Lagos 204, Kwara 155, Oyo 124, Plateau 80, FCT 75, Edo 56, Osun 48, Ondo 41, Kaduna 40, Rivers 40, Taraba 35, Borno 32, Ekiti 21, Ogun 20, Kano 14, Bayelsa 8, Delta 7, Bauchi 3 and Jigawa 2.
NCDC wrote on its twitter account that as of 11.50 p.m. on 12th February 2021 Nigeria reported that it had had a total of 144,521 confirmed cases of the worldwide virus since the index case was detected in the nation.
Out of the total, NCDC had treated and discharged 118,866 patients who suffered from the disease, while the disease control agency said 1,734 persons had been killed by the virus in the country to date.
COVID-19 killed 24 people in Nigeria on Friday.
NCDC stated that its discharges on Friday included 408 community recoveries in Lagos State and 99 community recoveries in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.
