A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Oyo State, Chief Adegboyega Adegoke on Thursday declared that the ongoing registration and revalidation would afford the party accurate data that would be useful for analysis during the coming 2023 general elections.
The APC Chieftain stated this while speaking at the revalidation of his membership of the party at his polling unit, Oke Ado High School of Ward 10, Ibadan South West LGA of Oyo
According to the APC Senatorial hopeful, the overall objective of the on going membership registration and revalidation exercise is to grow and strengthen the party from the grassroots.
“This registration and revalidation exercise will afford our party to increase membership. Few years back when we did last registration some youths have not attain voting age, but now have attain voting age, this exercise will afford them, we need to capture them, youths are many in this country that have become adults now”, he said.
The Ajia Balogun Olubadan added, “it would also afford the party to get accurate data that would be useful for analysis during the coming elections. To win elections and govern, an organized and responsible party must consciously grow its base with accurate data”.
Chief Adegoke however task all APC stakeholders in Oyo state to give the necessary support and cooperation for the success of the on going membership registration and revalidation exercise, saying, “it is, therefore, necessary and important for all our leaders and stakeholders to give support to this process by mobilizing our people to participate in it”.
“We owe the Membership Registration Committee, and of course our national leadership, this solemn duty. Their success is our collective success. All politics is local, they say. In this regard, I specifically tasks and encourages all leaders and major stakeholders of the APC in Oyo state to seize this moment to unite in the best interest of the party and our people.”.
The APC Chieftain stressed, “let us come together; mobilize our people to register as members of our party and strengthen the party thereby. It is the right thing to do”, adding,” I am therefore, calling on all the leaders and stakeholders of the APC to ensure full mobilisation, sensitization and participation of their people and ensure its success in their various catchment areas and the entire state at large”.
Emphasizing that the exercise will give room for the capturing of those that are just attaining voting age ahead of 2023 general elections, the Ajia Balogun Olubadan appealed to all party faithful to avail themselves with the opportunity provided by exercise of the party, appealing to all leaders of the party to mobilize members, followers and supporters from their wards, local government, constituencies and the state as a whole to come out en masse to register for the ongoing party’s registration and validation exercise
The APC Chieftain then advocated for an all embracing exercise and the spirit of oneness for all who willing to register and join the party in order to continue to reap the dividends of democracy.
