COVID-19: FG To Cushion Hardship, Dwindling Economic Effect On Nigerian Masses With N Cares – Oyo CSDA Chairman

The Chairman, Oyo State Community and Social Development Agency, (CSDA),  Honourable Hammed Babatunde Esuola has hinted that the Federal Government is ready to cushion the COVID-19  hardship and dwindling economic effect on Nigerian  masses. 
Honourable Esuola dropped this hint on Tuesday when he led a team of the Sensitization programme to Oyo Federal Constituency comprising of Afijio local government, Afijio West, Oyo East, Oyo South East, Atiba, Sooro, Oyo West and Oyo South West.
According to the Oyo CSDA Chairman, the intervention programme is to come under the  “Nigeria COVID -19 Action Recovery & Economic Stimulus(N-Cares)” 
He maintained that this was as a result of the fact that Federal Government consider it necessary to cushion the hardship and dwindling economic effect on the masses, and that the programme was channelled through the Community and Social Development Agency, Oyo State and other States of the Federation. 
The Oyo CSDA Chairman maintained that the sensitization programme was part of the ways to carry along grassroot authourities, Communities, Societies, traditional rulers, groups, CDCs and the less privileged people. 
Honourable Esuola pointed out that “in view of this, Oyo State, through the magnaminity of Governor Seyi Makinde has immediately approved this laudable programme and gave the matching order, named *OYO-CARES*.
The Acting General Manager of the Agency, Alhaja(Engr.) R.A. Adabanija while speaking  gave more insight of the Composition of the Local Care Committee, as headed by the HLGAs. 
Alhaja Adabanija  stressed that, this is a New programme and is a World Bank Assisted collaboration targeted at 3 Basic Needs, Education, Health and Water and would equally involve other patner Agencies like Fadama, OYOSIPA and others.
Also, the Head of Operations, Mrs Bode Raji in her remarks stressed that, Widows, Widowers, Disabled People, Less Privileged Youths and other dependants in the Societies are the main focus for this Programme and the Agency will recognize and Grant their requests based on the formation of the group of minimum of ten people and maximum of thirty.
The Caretaker Chairmen of Oyo East, Afijio Local Government, Afijio West LCDA & Atiba L G; Hon Saheed Adeyemi Arowosaye, Hon Okeleye Joseph, Hon Sunday Akindele Ojo (SAO), Hon Akinkunmi Sulaiman who received the CSDA Chairman and his team lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for supporting this laudable programme to cushion the hardship caused by Covid-19. They assured the Agency of their support in the immediate composition of the Local Care Committee and their activities.
The Alaawe of Awe, Oba Cornelius Taiwo, The Akibio of Ilora, Oba Stephen Olufemi Oparinde II and Chief Samu of Oyo Land, Chief Lamidi Olayiwola, who spoke on behalf of the  traditional rulers, commended the Agency for the sensitization programme to the Local Government levels and charge the Agency to give priority to the basic amenities to the communities and villages.
