Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: Ondo Tops 506 New Cases, Total 139,748



Nigeria Centre for Disease Control’s (NCDC) daily update indicated that 506 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were found in 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja on Sunday 7th February 2021.
The COVID-19-infested states are: Ondo 90, Kwara 89, Rivers 53, Borno 45, Gombe 32, FCT 28, Imo 26, Ogun 25, Lagos 22, Kaduna 14, Kano 14, Edo 13, Osun 11, Cross River 10, Yobe 9, Ekiti 7, Kebbi 6, Nasarawa 6, Oyo 5 and Jigawa 1.
NCDC disclosed in its daily update that as of 11.40 p.m. on 7th February 2021 Nigeria’s COVID-19 burden stood at a total of 139,748 confirmed cases since the index case occurred in the country.
Out of the total, 113,525 patients who were infected with the  pandemic had been treated and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while, to date, the nation had recorded 1,667 deaths caused by the worldwide virus.
According to NCDC data, the disease killed 20 people in Nigeria on Sunday.
The national disease control institute reported on its twitter platform that its discharges on Sunday included 360 community recoveries in Lagos State, 138 in Osun State, 121 in Plateau State, 89 in Imo State and 38 in Kano State managed in line with guidelines.
